As part of the MARCH TO MARCH and International Women’s Month 2016, Sarajean Rossitto and Rachel Walzer are happy to announce the Black Stripe Theater presentation of the documentary play SEVEN in April 2016.

SEVEN tells the true stories of seven women who bravely fought for the well-being of women, families, and children around the globe: in Russia, protecting women from domestic violence; in Cambodia, rescuing girls from human trafficking; in Guatemala, giving voice to the poor; in Afghanistan, empowering rural women; in Nigeria and Pakistan, fighting for women’s education and rights; and in Northern Ireland, promoting peace and equality.

Black Stripe Theater presents SEVEN, Join us April 14-17




April 14-17, Black Stripe Theater will present the acclaimed documentary play SEVEN @ Sangubashi Transmission Theater

SEVEN tells the true stories of seven women who bravely fought for the well-being of women, families, and children around the globe: in Russia, protecting women from domestic violence; in Cambodia, rescuing girls from human trafficking; in Guatemala, giving voice to the poor; in Afghanistan, empowering rural women; in Nigeria and Pakistan, fighting for women’s education and rights; and in Northern Ireland, promoting peace and equality.

SEVEN will be directed by Rachel Walzer and produced by Sarajean Rossitto.

       April 14-17, Black Stripe Theater will present the acclaimed documentary play SEVEN.



SEVEN tells the true stories of seven women who bravely fought for the well-being of women, families, and children around the globe: in Russia, protecting women from domestic violence; in Cambodia, rescuing girls from human trafficking; in Guatemala, giving voice to the poor; in Afghanistan, empowering rural women; in Nigeria and Pakistan, fighting for women’s education and rights; and in Northern Ireland, promoting peace and equality.


SEVEN will be directed by Rachel Walzer and produced by Sarajean Rossitto.

Introduction meeting and auditions for production crew and actors:
Sunday January 10th: 5:30pm~ 9:30pm 
*** Akasaka Civic Center, Meeting room 1, on the 4th floor

Friday January 15th: 6:00 ~ 9:30pm 
*** Akasaka Civic Center, Meeting room 2, on the 4th floor


We are looking for:

·    At least 7 women actors from various backgrounds and of various ages. Non-native English speakers who are comfortable communicating in English are most welcome.

·  Various artists including  singers, dancers, musicians etc.
·  A production team to help backstage with hair, costumes,  & performance support.
·  A management and promotion team to help with ticket sales, PR, outreach & marketing to embassies, universities and international organizations as well as the general public.

SEVEN 1st MEETING INFO


This meeting is for anyone interested in taking part in any way. We understand not everyone is able to join so we will hold a follow-up meeting as well as the auditions in January.  

 If you know anyone who might be interested in joining our team - please bring them along and ask them to sign up using this form. ( It was been updated after the first days but is basically the same.)

DATE / TIME Saturday, Dec 19, from 5:30 pm
* The main part of the meeting will be 5:30-7:30, however we may continue on with discussion until 8:00pm or so - depending on people's interests and schedules.

1. production introductions by Sarajean and Rachel (5-15 min)
2. introductions  (5-15 min)
3. reading of the play - we would love everyone to take part in this, but it is not required.  (about 60-75 min)
4. discussion about the play and production  (20-40 min)
Location Takanawa Community plaza 2nd floor*you must enter from the main street entrance, the direct entrance from the subway to the main Hall is closed in the evenings and on weekends.

- Singers, dancers, various artists. Persons with experience in choreography also encouraged to join. All genders, ages and nationalities welcome!
